SYMPHONY of QUEER ERRANDs

Release date: 20th February 2025

Order online: Tender Press

Symphony of Queer Errands is a delightfully irreverent long-form narrative poem / concept album / queer masterwork from artist, writer and filmmaker Rachel O’Neill. Following a charming but awkward composer as they strive to create the titular symphony, we meet a strange and compelling ensemble cast of musicians and instruments who come together to bring the work to life. Replete with prose poems, score sheets, chants and ex-girlfriends, Symphony of Queer Errands delivers a boundless ode to queer joy.”

Early on in the book, the reader is introduced to the orchestra that will bring the ‘Symphony of Queer Errands’ to life. The instruments are entirely invented and embody concepts of dis/harmony, de/composition and experimental musicality, both classical and contemporary.

Listen to the audio below as I read prose poems introducing the instruments.
